Opening and closing all of the blinds in your house is a chore. Having to go into every room, and deal with fiddly, difficult-to-reach cords isn’t something any homeowner wants to do. There are times when you don’t have the time, don’t have a free set of hands or forget to open or close your blinds altogether! The solution? Remote control blinds of course.

Remote control blinds provide you with a quick simple solution for controlling your blinds, either individually or all together. Remotes are incredibly easy to use and have the ability to save you time and money, as well as improve the safety and security of your home. Once you invest in remote control blinds you will wonder how you ever survived without them.

Operating Multiple Blinds At Ease!

Using a remote, smartphone or smart home device enables you to fully control all of the blinds in your house at once. Simply press the button as a command, then continue with your day without having to enter multiple rooms. Alternatively, control your blinds when you’re not home using automation – perfect if you’ve forgotten to open or close them.

Perfect For Hard-To-Reach Windows

Not all of your windows will be easy to reach. You either have to climb up to reach them or manoeuvre around household items as they are often in high areas of your house or blocked by furniture. This is not only uncomfortable and frustrating, but it has the potential to be dangerous as well.

Control your remote control blinds with the simple press of a button, by voice command, by automating them, or create ‘scenes’ that incorporate your other smart devices. Perhaps you want all of your blinds to close at 6 PM, your lights to come on in the living room and kitchen and the TV to turn on. All this is possible with Smart Blinds!

Connect With Your Smart Home

All of our electric blinds come with remote control as standard, but do not come as a smart blind. To make your blinds smart, simply connect them to a smart home device to unlock a wealth of possibilities. Control your blinds from anywhere in the world using an app, automate them to open and close at certain times of day, or set up scenes

Enhanced Privacy & Security

You might not think so, but electric blinds are a great way of improving the safety of your home. Connect your electric blinds to a smart home device such as the TaHoma Hub and automate them to open and close at certain times of the day – even when you’re not in. This will act as a deterrent to potential thieves when you are away for long periods of time as they will think that someone is still in your house.

Improve Your Energy Efficiency At Home

Although electric blinds are more expensive initially, they will save money in the long run by increasing the energy efficiency of your home. Blinds in general act as an extra layer of insulation in your windows – often the area in your home where heat escapes most. Automate your electric blinds and set them to open as the sun comes up to allow heat into your home, then close as soon as the sun sets to keep it in.

Protect Furniture

Sunlight in hot summer months will not only make your house uncomfortably warm, but it will also damage your furniture too. UV rays stream through south-facing rooms and cause damage to everything from carpets to wooden furnishings such as tables and chairs. Automate your electric blinds and set them to close during the most intense hours of sunlight in the day to reduce sun damage.

No Wiring Or Cords Needed!

Electric blinds offer a cleaner look as they do not have any cords to open or close. They also don’t have any wiring as the motor is fully battery-powered. Not only does this look smarter in your home, but it’s much safer for pets and young children.

How Long Will The Remote Batteries Last?

All of our electric blind remote controls are powered by long-life rechargeable batteries, including the Situo 1 Pure RTS, Situo 5 Pure RTS and the Telis 16 Pure RTS. Batteries will last for 3 – 5 years depending on their daily use.

How Do Remote Control Blinds Work?

Remote controls from Smart Blinds are simple devices that work using an RTS receiver. This allows the remote to communicate with your blinds and change depending on the command.

Use your remote control to your blinds individually or collectively.

All of our blinds feature built in limits to prevent the blind from opening or closing too much, without having to use your remote to stop them. Users also have the option of setting their own third pre-set limit for maximum flexibility.

What Smart Devices Can I Link My Remote Control Blinds To?

Your electric blinds work fine on their own, but spending a little extra on incorporating them with your smart home makes a big difference. The first thing you need to do is invest in a smart home device such as the TaHoma Switch Home Hub. This device is the control centre for all the smart devices in your home – which includes blinds, lights, doorbells, TVs, locks, and plugs to name just a few. The possibilities really are endless.

Next, link your Amazon Alexa, Google Home or If This Then That account to your TaHoma Switch Home Hub once it is set up. This allows you to use your voice as a control and enables you to fully automate your blinds.
